Posture and Body Language:
While Obama used his hand gestures to aid in emphasizing his words, some gestures seem to be uneeded, and do not add much to the speech. For the most part, his gestures did help into making the speech more personable and friendly, rather then comming across as "talking down" to the audience.
Articulation:
Obama's speech was clear and eaisly understandable. The words are pronnounced clearly and without stumbling. His mastery of articulation and pronunciation help to portray his intellegence, without introducting traces of arrogance.
Pronunciation:
His pronunciation was pretty much one hundred percent correct, I could not find any flaws in what he had said.
Pitch and Volume:
The changes in his pitch helped to accentuate the message of his speech. He raised the pitch of his voice at the right moments to helpto show the importance of certian words. I think that he kept his voice at the correct level of voulme as well to be projeted to all who were attending, yet not yelling at those in the front row. He had strength in his voice, which also helped to keep the attention of the people.
Pace and Caesura:
The changes in pace helped to show the continuous problems that the early people who had settled here hhad faced. It also helped to emphasize everything that they had done to make the society better for the people now. His pauses after "for us" helped to show that it was all for us, rather then to emphasize what they had done.
Quality:
His voice was even and strong, it did not seem like he was struggling to make a point, rather it seemed as if the words had come to him naturally.
Variance:
The changes in the different parts of making a speech helped to show the importance of his points, while letting the other points flow. The less important points allowed for the emphasis on the major points.
